Commander JFC Naples visits Serbia

BELGRADE - Admiral Michelle Howard, Commander Allied Joint Force Command Naples, completed a two-day trip to Serbia, where she met with Serbian civilian and military officials to discuss NATO-Serbia cooperation and prospects for future partnership with the Serbian Armed Forces.

During the meeting with Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, Admiral Howard reaffirmed the importance of continuing political dialogue and exchange of information on terrorism and the migrant crisis that is affecting the Western Balkans and wider Europe. The Commander underlined that NATO remains committed to promotion of security in the region, particularly in Kosovo with its KFOR mission.

Additionally, Admiral Howard met with a group of successful women in the field of politics, civil society, and media to discuss the importance of integrating the gender perspective in the military and why women play the key role in every successful NATO operation.

The Commander also paid a visit to the NATO MLO and conducted two interviews with Radio-Television of Serbia and European Western Balkans.
