SKOPJE, Macedonia -- A farewell reception was organized by the Chief of the NATO Liaison Office in Skopje, Navy Captain Rumen Radev, to mark the occasion of his replacement by Navy Captain Gorazd Bartol, June 22, 2016.
The event featured attendance from senior diplomats, officers from Ministry of Defense, the Defense Attaches, as well as all members of the Skopje NLO.
Capt. Radev thanked the attendees for their personal engagement and professional cooperation. He mentioned the office has offered full support for the country’s aspiration, implementation of the annual national programs and the partnership and review process. He also spoke highly of the improvement and transformation of the national defense capabilities in line with the Alliance’s latest standards, initiatives and programs. According to Capt. Radev, this provided expertise in support to the forthcoming priority tasks and increased NATO visibility and enhancement interoperability of the Armed Forces.
Capt. Radev stressed the general staff and MoD have made successful progress as they strive towards integration of the host nation for membership in NATO and the European Union.
Capt. Bartol thanked Capt. Radev for his efforts and stressed that he would continue at the same pace.
