Lieutenant General Hamid Mohammed GUMAR, DCOS Training, underlined the close cooperation with NATO Mission Iraq in various fields and highlighted especially the intensive advisory relations in regards to military training and increased standardization.

Both leaders agreed that effective and efficient training is at the core of capable armed forces, however requires focal coordination and synchronization of all resources deemed necessary. DCOS Training informed about the current topics of relocation of several branch and service schools as well as about the most important projects such as combined-arms exercises and the development of Non-commissioned officers in the Iraqi Army.

It was agreed that the successful cooperation and advisory activities of NATO Mission Iraq will continue and progress, which will include joint visits to Iraqi schools and entities where NATO Mission Iraq advisors can contribute to the future development of Iraqi forces and their force generation. Major General HINTZY made clear that it is about Iraqi ownership in training as it will be Iraqi instructors training Iraqi soldiers.
