Allied Joint Force Command Naples Deputy Commander visits the Iraqi Army Bomb Disposal School in Besmayah

On 30 October, 2019, the NATO Joint Force Command Naples Deputy Commander, Lieutenant-General Omer Lavoie visited Besmayah Range Complex.

During his visit, LGen Lavoie met with Iraqi Army Bomb Disposal School (IABDS) Commander in order to gain a deeper knowledge of the IABDS facilities and activities. NATO Mission Iraq (NMI) Embedded Training and Advisory Teams are currently deployed at IABDS, closely supporting the Iraqi military personnel, providing training and advice based on identified needs.

Under the responsibility of the NATO Joint Force Command Naples, NMI works with IABDS to develop a strong training program as part of the effort to help Iraq building and sustaining effective, transparent and inclusive Defence capabilities.
