JFC Naples Highlights the Power of Bilateral Dialogue at NATO’s MSPC in Doha

Doha, QATAR – As the NATO Military Strategic Partnership Conference (MSPC) 2025 wrapped up in Doha, JFC Naples’ J9 Division played a central role in driving forward cooperation through bilateral meetings that turned strategic intent into operational progress.

JFC Naples J9 facilitated and participated in dozens of face-to-face engagements during the four-day conference. These bilateral sessions allowed NATO and partner nations to align priorities, deepen understanding, and explore practical ways to collaborate on shared security challenges.

Rear Admiral Thorsten Marx, Assistant Chief of Staff J9, underscored the value of these engagements:

These bilateral meetings are where we turn strategic dialogue into tangible cooperation. They are essential for building trust, aligning objectives, and enhancing our ability to respond collectively to shared security challenges.

This year’s MSPC brought together over 300 military leaders from 57 countries, reinforcing NATO’s global network of partnerships. While plenary sessions and panels focused on emerging threats and technological innovation, it was in the quieter corners – during structured bilateral conversations – where real progress took root.

J9’s presence and leadership helped shape key discussions on military education, interoperability, and regional stability. The team also engaged with Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP) partners and supported partner nations exploring NATO Centres of Excellence, fostering new avenues for training and knowledge exchange.

As NATO continues to face a dynamic and evolving threat environment, JFC Naples J9 remains a critical engine of partnership, ensuring that cooperation is not only discussed – but implemented.
