JFC Naples Hosted the Southern Commanders’ Coordination Conference

LAGO PATRIA, Italy – The Southern Commanders' Coordination Conference (SCCC) took place at Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples) from 18 to 20 November 2024. The conference was led by JFC Naples’ Commander, Admiral Stuart B. Munsch, who was joined by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Christopher Cavoli.

During the first day of the conference, the Chiefs of Defense from across Southern Europe as well as senior military representatives from across NATO discussed readiness to collectively defend every inch of NATO territory, in the context of the regional defense plan for Southern Europe.

During the second day of the conference, NATO Allies were joined by partners from North Africa and the Middle East to discuss areas of common interests. The progress of NATO's partnership programmes is of great importance and the SCCC contributes to the promotion of security and stability in Africa and the Middle East. The SCCC helps to improve collective understanding of the threats, challenges and opportunities facing our Allies and partners through a series of open discussions in which their views are presented. The SCCC helps define areas we can focus on or work with in the future.
