(Right) Lieutenant General Stephen Kelsey, Deputy Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Naples, received (Left) Ms. Margarita Robles, ESP Minister of Defence, to headquarters building on May 13, 2024.  

On May 13, 2024 ESP Minister of Defence, Ms. Margarita Robles, paid a visit to the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples).

The purpose of the visit was to know JFC Naples at first hand, as the Joint Headquarters providing security within the Mediterranean and Black Sea Region and therefore responsible of the Collective Defense of Spain´s mainland.

Lieutenant General Stephen Kelsey, Deputy Commander of JFC Naples, received the Minister of Defence and led the following discussion with a representation of the Command Group and Heads of Directorate. He specifically referred to the Spanish contribution to Deterrence and Defence in the Mediterranean and Black Sea Region and the relevant role of Spanish personnel within the headquarters.

After this discussion, the Minister of Defence had a meeting with the Spanish Contingent, when its Senior National Representative, RAdm Asensi, explained in detail Spanish role in the headquarter and the importance of Spanish contribution to NATO operations and activities within the JFC Naples area of responsibility.
