Blood Donation in JFC NAPLES

LAGO PATRIA, Italy - The Greek National Element of Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples) organized a volunteer blood donation on December 12, 2024 with the support of the JFC Naples personnel and the Italian Volunteer Association of the Blood (AVIS – Associazione Volontari Italiani del Sangue). 110 volunteers donated their blood. The Greek National Element initiated this campaign in 2019.

Greek Navy Commodore Apostolos Trivlidis, the Greek Senior National Representative at JFC Naples, led the campaign. The objective of this initiative is to support the voluntary blood donation raising awareness about the necessity for regular blood donations, ensuring the availability, quality, and safety of blood and also to send out a sound message to the Alliance’s multidimensional nature.

Every donation has the potential to save multiple lives, and your efforts ensure that those in need receive the care they deserve. Let's continue to unite as a community and inspire others to join in this vital cause.

“I would like to express heartfelt gratitude to blood donors and the dedicated organizers behind blood donation drives” Commodore Trivlidis said “Your generosity and commitment made a real difference in the lives of those in need. Every drop counts, and your efforts ensure that hospitals have the resources to save lives. Every donation has the potential to save multiple lives, and your efforts ensure that those in need receive the care they deserve. Let's continue to unite as a community and inspire others to join in this vital cause. Together, we can make a lasting impact”.

This blood donation campaign’s aim was to demonstrate the strong relationships and ethos between men and women in uniform, here in Lago Patria, but also as an expression of appreciation for the host nation’s support and hospitality

The AVIS Comprensoriale Napoli 1 representatives were the President Cav. Raffaele di Martino and the National Councilor Dr. Antonio F.G. Esposito.

“AVIS is the Italian non-profit organization of Italian blood donors dedicated to blood donation” President di Martino said “As always, the objective is to guarantee and raise awareness of the culture of donation in order to guarantee the necessary availability both for the quality and safety of blood and its derivatives, useful and indispensable for patients in need” he continued “we thank the Senior Greek Representative, Commodore Apostolos Trivlidis for the great organization of the event and Colonel Aplakidis Ioannis and Colonel Pierpaolo Della Valle who have greatly contributed to the success of the blood donation campaign”.

JFC Naples, a pivotal NATO command in Southern Europe, is actively engaged in numerous cultural, social, and humanitarian efforts, underscoring its commitment to strengthening community ties and promoting reciprocal understanding.
