REGEX is a NATO-supported opportunity for partner countries to plan and conduct an exercise, shaping it to meet national training requirements; it involves a designated Partner Nation acting as host, inviting all other NATO Partners to participate in the planning and execution of a national exercise.
Workshop 4 marked the continuation of the Exercise Planning Process in preparation for REGEX 23 Command Post Exercise (CPX) execution in NOV 23. The group was tasked with two main objectives for this workshop: to develop the Main Event List (MEL) and the Main Incident List (MIL) for the delivery of the CPX. The CPX in NOV 23 is having a Composite Brigade Headquarters as Target Audience that will be trained within a Peace Support Operation Scenario.
A training team from Allied Joint Force Command Naples mentored 25 participants from 12 Partner Nations: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan, Morocco, Moldova, Pakistan, Tunisia, and Uzbekistan. The partners, representing all four NATO partnership frameworks (Istanbul Cooperation Initiative/ICI, Mediterranean Dialogue, Partnership for Peace/PfP and Partners across the globe) worked alongside 58 officers from the host nation, Qatar.
The close coordination between the Qatari armed forces, Partner Nation representatives and the JFCNP REGEX core team and the deep dedication were the pillars to successfully reach the goal in workshop 4.
