Naples, Italy - Naples, Italy. 110 “Heart it for breast cancer” cushions have been donated, to cancer patients of Cardarelli’s Hospital on 21 November 2023. These heart-shaped, post-surgery aids were designed and manufactured by the ladies of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples) community to help cancer patients recover from surgery and endure chemotherapy.

The cushions were delivered to the Naples’ Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer (LILT - Lega Italiana della Lotta contro i tumori) and a press conference was held at 11.30 am in the Meeting Room of Cardarelli’s Hospital.

The ceremony was attended, among others, by Mrs. Jane Froud representing JFC Naples’ International Solidarity Group, Dr. Adolfo Gallipoli D'Errico, chairman of the Neapolitan section of LILT, Dr. Rosaria Boscaino, vice-president of LILT “Women like before”, Dr. Antonio d' Amore, the General Manager of Cardarelli’s Hospital and Dr. Ferdinando Ricciardi, Director of the Cardarelli Hospital Medical Oncology department.

During the meeting, useful data regarding the activity of the hospital’s oncology department were provided, followed by an overview of the role played by LILT of Naples.

A wonderful morning with the JFC Naples Community, working together for a good cause, supporting women with breast cancer.

said Mrs. Jane Froud.

The “Heart Campaign” was led by the Spanish Community and was strongly supported by the whole JFC Naples International Community who made 250 heart cushions in total. The first part of these aids were delivered to Pascale’s Hospital on March 8, 2023.
