J9 MILITARY PARTNERSHIP BRANCH MEET A DELEGATION OF THE NATIONAL ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

JFC NAPLES J9 MILITARY PARTNERSHIP BRANCH MEETS DELEGATION OF THE NATIONAL ARMY OF REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA

Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova Joint Force Command Naples (JFCNP) J9 Military Partnership Branch (MPB) had the distinct pleasure to meet a delegation of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova for an Advisory Visit on 23-26 March 2021.

A team from JFC Naples J9 MPB, along with representatives from the Land Command Izmir G9, conducted an Advisory Visit (AV) to discuss all preparatory activities for the upcoming NATO Evaluation Level 2 (NEL-2) of the A Infantry Company and Mortar Company from 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion of the Republic of Moldova Armed Forces.

The OCC E&F programme is the NATO evaluation programme designed to assess the level of interoperability and military capability of partner units in the NATO Pool of Forces (PoF) and supports partner efforts to develop forces that are fully capable of operating with NATO standards and procedures. Upon successful completion of all steps, the evaluated unit is officially recognized “Combat Ready” and potential contributor to NATO-led operations.

The objectives of the Advisory visit were achieved. The Joint NATO team was very well received by the Moldovan Armed Forces delegation, and both delegation emphasized the good cooperation where enhancing the interoperability and capability of Moldovan Armed Forces is a priority. Through a rigorous evaluation and feedback reports, the Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) and Evaluation feedback (E&F) is assisting declared Moldavian units to achieve full interoperability and capability and meet NATO standards, so they can be made available for peacekeeping or crisis management operations.

The Republic of Moldova is valued contributor to the NATO-led operations. Many of declared units of the Republic of Moldova Armed Forces that are certified through OC E&F programme have been deployed in support of the Kosovo Force (KFOR), where they are gaining further experience of working with Allies and other partners and help to build peace and stability in Kosovo.
