Military Partnership Branch Meets with International Military Staff, Land Command Izmir and Special Operations Headquarters

RABAT, Morocco. On 11-12 February, an expert team visit (ETV) was organized in the Kingdom of Morocco by the Allied Joint Force Command Naples J9 Military Partnership Branch (JFCNP J9 MPB), with the support of representatives from the International Military Staff (IMS), Land Command Izmir and NATO Special Operations Headquarters, as a follow-up activity after the recent declaration of a Moroccan Unit in the NATO Operational Capability Concept Pool of Forces (OCC PoF).

This ETV consisted in a one-day meeting with the Moroccan Armed Forces General Staff and an on-site visit which enabled the NATO team to have a first overview of the declared unit.

As part of the extensive number of activities conducted by JFCNP with the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces, this important visit has set up the foundations to support the Partner Nation to prepare the unit to successfully undergo the NATO evaluation process in order to be certified as a “Combat Ready Unit”.

A few weeks after the opening of the new edition of the Regional Exercise, hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco in 2020, this ETV reaffirms the strong commitment of JFCNP and its J9 Military Partnership Branch in the military cooperation with this dynamic Mediterranean Dialogue partner whose engagement is critical in contributing to the regional security and stability.
