NAPLES, Italy - About 80 students from the secondary school Pietro Paolo Parzanese in Ariano Irpino, in the Campania region, visited Joint Force Command Naples Feb. 11.

For the first time, students and teachers visited the modern headquarters building where JFC Naples has been since 2012.

"I’m happy to be here today at JFC Naples. I was impressed how this headquarters protects and coordinates security across a huge portion of the territory around the globe,” said 18-year-old student Annachiara Raffa.

The students attended a briefing on the functions and tasks of the command, including the recent history of the headquarters.

Students got an overview on topics such as NATO structure, the Joint Operations Center activities, and the role of the NATO international civilians and the importance of the cyber security.

"I was impressed by how the personnel belonging to 23 nations share procedures and skills despite the different cultures and their different native languages,” said 18-year-old student student Galasso Giorgio.

Students also met the JFC Naples Base Support Group Commander, Italian Army Colonel Giancarlo Turco, who addressed them in his welcome remarks.
