LAGO PATRIA, Italy - Hungarian senior military officers, of the Senior Military Leader Postgraduate University Level Programme students visited JFC Naples April 8.
The course expands student`s theoretical knowledge on NATO and EU topics. Foreign professional visits in the form of field studies compliment the training, where students gain practical experience of current NATO / EU policy issues and visit the most important NATO Command Structure elements, including JFC Naples.
This year`s visit was the 7th visit of the HUN General Staff Course since 2013 and is a part of the JFCNP – National Military Educational Institutions relations activity.
The visiting delegation was led by Prof. General (Ret., OF-9) Zoltan Szenes, Professor of Security and Defense Studies, former Chief of Defense of Hungary.
DCOS SPT, Major General Werner Haumann addressed the visitors in his welcoming remark and answered to their questions.
The programme covered various briefings and discussions as well as a visit to the Joint Operation Centre (JOC), the "Heart of the HQ”. Following a briefing on the function and tasks of the Command, including the recent history of the Headquarter; the visitors received an overview on topics such as NATO Command
Structure Adaptation, Balkan`s Operations, NSD-S HUB, the Rapid Urbanization in Africa and the Middle East as well as the last year`s Exercise TRIDENT JUNCTURE 2018 (TRJE18).
During the visit the team leader General Szenes was welcomed by JFC Naples Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano on an Office Call.
The leaders linked knowledge and they got to know the professional opinions of the staff here and got insight into the complexity of decision-making and the working and cooperation system of NATO.
