SARAJEVO, Bosnia and Herzegovina — A team from Allied Joint Force Command Naples met with Bosnia and Herzegovina Armed Forces representatives in Sarajevo, Feb. 6 to 9, 2018, as part of an advisory visit.

The team of five servicemembers from JFC Naples was led by French Army Lieutenant Colonel Didier Odet, JFC Naples Base Information Management and Staff Workflow and Management officer.

The purpose of the visit was to support planning and support for upcoming exercises and evaluations as well as to reach agreements on various topics. An additional goal was to ensure that Bosnia and Herzegovina military authorities remain on the right track to be declared combat ready during a future NATO evaluation.

Odet said frankness, flexibility and transparency characterized the exchanges and quality of the discussions throughout the event.

Event organizers said that as part of NATO’s military outreach policy, visits fit into an evaluation and feedback methodology that is a mutually beneficial and important tool to modernize the defence forces of partners and to contribute to ongoing capacity building efforts in NATO as well.
