NAPLES, Italy – Several Partner nation staff officers participated in the Command Post Exercise execution phase of Exercise Trident Juncture 18.
The North Atlantic Council approved the participation of staff officers from Sweden, Finland, Australia, Jordan, Georgia and Ukraine, as NATO Response Force 19 contributors and Enhanced Opportunity Partners, in TRJE18.
Swedish, Finnish and Australian Officers are fully embedded working as augmentees in the Headquarters while Jordanian, Georgian and Ukrainian officers have an embedded minus role, sharing a positions with NATO officers.
Partner officers are not only integrated in the Joint Task Force Headquarters in Naples but also in the Joint Warfare Center as part of the exercise contributors, with the 1st German-Netherland Corp in the Land Component Command and in Air Command as part of the Air Component Command.
Besides these participants, Joint Force Command Naples organized an Observer Programme for Partner Nations approved by the NAC, to observe exercises TRJE18. During the two day programme representatives from Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Moldova, Morocco, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland learned how an Operational HQ works in an Art-5 exercise.
