Foggo attends Polish Navy anniversary

GDYNIA, Poland - On occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Polish Navy, U.S. Navy Admiral James Foggo took part in the event’s celebration.

Located in the harbour of the Baltic city of Gdynia, Foggo embarked onboard the Polish Navy vessel Navigator. Together with the Polish President Andrzej Duda, the Polish Minister of Defense Mariusz Blaszczak, and the Polish Chief of Naval Operations Lieutenant General Jaroslaw Mika, Foggo witnessed a fleet review in vicinity of the prospering city of Gdynia.

"It was a terrific, professionally executed review with a number of ships from many NATO countries and other nations," Foggo said.

While meeting with the Polish delegation including high-rank military leaders, discussions included the importance of the Alliance, the upcoming summit and the lessons learned from BALTOPS.

Recently, Poland participated in a naval exercise that annually takes place across the Baltic Sea organized by the U.S. Navy called BALTOPS. In addition to exercise efforts, the Polish Navy contributes to several NATO and European Union missions such as the Operation Althea against illegal trade and human smuggling in the Mediterranean.
