German Armed Forces Staff and Command College visits JFC Naples

NAPLES, Italy – A delegation of the German Federal Armed Forces Command and Staff College visited Allied Joint Force Command Naples, Feb. 15-16, 2017.
The annual visit of JFC Naples has been part of an educational tour to authorities across NATO, the European Union and multiple European capitals.

The JFC Naples’ Chief of Staff, Italian Army Lt. Gen. Luciano Portolano, addressed the participants and briefed attendees on the command's operations and current and future challenges. During the update, the delegation received an orientation of the organization, tasks and the ongoing missions led by JFC Naples.

The National General Staff and Naval Staff Course is the highest level of education and training in the German Federal Armed Forces. The course, which lasts more than two years, focuses on military subjects across the spectrum of tactical, operational and strategic levels.
During the visit, the students, directed by German Navy Capt. Richard Kesten, received a firsthand look into the command structure of JFC Naples and an overview about the German community’s life in southern Italy and specifically cultural aspects in Naples and the Campania region.
