NAPLES, Italy -- A senior JFC Naples official helped lead training efforts at a civil military integration training course in Baghdad, May 28, 2017. Several NATO officers contributed to the course, held at the Al Nahrain Center, to help Iraqi military officers in the war on ISIS, or Daesh.
Civil military integration is planning specifically focused on inter-agency coordination with what ways and means can be coordinated to bring about a joint solution to issues affecting the respective ministries.
U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Murray Joe "JT" Tynch, III, assistant chief of staff for operations at Allied Joint Force Command Naples, kicked off the event following remarks by the NATO Core Team senior military officer, Italian Army Brig. Gen. Pierfranco Tria, and the NATO senior civilian, Rick Froh. Tynch was followed by two Dutch officers from the Civ-Mil Center of Excellence.
The NATO Training and Capacity Building Core Team are military and civilian personnel who work in close coordination to deliver a comprehensive and fully integrated training product to the Iraqis. This meets NATO’s intent to deliver in country capacity building activities aimed to develop institutional capabilities whereby Iraqi officials can take on the role of further development of security and associated structures within the Iraqi administration.
A total of 25 Iraqi military officers attended the course of instruction, which was the second in a series of three civ-mil lectures.
