The 2nd Regional collective Training Event Planning Workshop in support of REGEX 17

AMMAN, Jordan – The 2nd Regional collective Training Event Planning Workshop in support of REGEX 17 took place, November 27- December 1, 2016. REGEX is a NATO supported opportunity for partner countries to plan and conduct an exercise from the beginning to the end according to their training requirements. Jordan has taken the lead for REGEX 17 and is the first first Mediterranean Dialogue Partner to do so.

A JFC Naples J7/J9 REGEX team, headed by DEU-A Brigadier General Reinhard KLOSS (JFC Naples ACOS J9), mentored this second Workshop where 48 participants from 19 Partner countries took part.  In his opening addressing to the participants, Brigadier General KHALID ALSHRAA, Director of Joint Training, Jordan Armed Forces, stressed the importance Jordan places on REGEX 17. Brigadier General KLOSS thanked Jordan for inviting all present and remarked on the pride Jordan must feel in having participants from so many countries attending this event.

In what proved to be a fruitful and productive week, the workshop focused on a review of the Exercise Planning Process (EPP), building Training Objectives according to Exercise Specifications and conducting the Exercise Initial Planning Conference following the premises of the Bi Sc 75-03.

 
Allied Joint Force Command Naples is planning to conduct 4 more REGEX 17 workshops and the Execution Phase in 2017. This initiative supports NATO objectives and builds trust and understanding for a better cooperation in the region, and it promotes increasing interoperability within NATO.
