JFC Naples Chief of Staff visits NATO support mission in Africa

Italian Army Lt. Gen. Luciano Portolano,  Allied Joint Force Command Naples Chief of Staff,  visited the NATO Support to the African Union (NS2AU) mission in Addis Ababa,  Ethiopia,  Jan. 16-17,  2017.

NAPLES, Italy -- Italian Army Lt. Gen. Luciano Portolano, Allied Joint Force Command Naples Chief of Staff, visited the NATO Support to the African Union (NS2AU) mission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Jan. 16-17, 2017.
 
The purpose of the meeting was to inaugurate the new premises of the NATO Senior Military Liaison Office. Portolano was accompanied by German Army Brig. Gen. Reinhard Kloss, the JFC Naples Assistant Chief of Staff of the J9 Division.
 
During the visit, Portolano took the opportunity to gain an appreciation of the day-to-day work of the NS2AU mission team on the ground. He also carried out meetings with the African Union and the European Union Office to the AU seeking to discuss, strengthen and deepen NATOs relations in Ethiopia and the AU. The new NS2AU office was inaugurated on Jan. 16 during an official NATO ceremony and reception, which was attended by representatives of the AU and the local diplomatic community.
