Bulgarian NFIU commander hosts ‘Dacian Lynx 16’ planning conference



SOFIA, Bulgaria – The Commander of the Bulgarian NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU), Colonel Stayko Prokopiev, hosted the main planning conference for "Dacian Lynx 16” at the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence, Feb. 15, 2016.
 

The conference was chaired by the Commander of Multinational Division (MND) – Southeast, Romanian Army  Brigadier General Ovidiu Uifăleanu.

The aim of the conference was to plan, synchronize, and coordinate the forthcoming exercise "Dacian Lynx 16.”

"This is a very ambitious project. As a result of the Wales Summit, we are starting this journey together – the Romanian and Bulgarian NFIUs and the Multinational Division – Southeast,” said Brig. Gen. Uifăleanu during the opening of the main planning conference.

The participants of the conference are representatives from the Bulgarian Ministry of Defence, Allied Joint Force Command Naples, the Bulgarian Joint Force Command, the Bulgarian and Romanian NFIUs, as well as representatives from the Simulation Centers in Bulgaria and Romania.

"Dacian Lynx 16” will be conducted from May 4 - 14, 2016, in Bulgaria and Romania and will assist in achieving "full operational capability” for the NFIUs and "initial operational capability’ for MND Southeast.
