NATO MLO and Slovak Embassy host defense attaché meeting
The NATO MLO Belgrade and the Slovak Embassy acting as the NATO Contact Point Embassy in Serbia organized a joint meeting with defense attaches from NATO and partner countries to discuss various forms of cooperation with the Serbian Ministry of Defense.
The meeting was a good opportunity to explore Serbia’s progress in achieving the remaining 41 Partnership Goals with NATO and prospects for broader cooperation with the expected agreement on the first Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between NATO and Serbia.
Chief of MLO Belgrade Brig. Gen. Lucio Batta noted that NATO remains committed to assisting Serbia in defense reform, and recalled that the Alliance had recently certified more than 250 Serbian soldiers to participate in any international mission.
The next NATO and Partnership for Peace defense attachés meeting should take place in early 2015.
