JOINT REGIONAL DETACHMENT SOUTH EAST
Joint Regional Detachment–South East (JRD-SE) supports COMKFOR’s situational awareness and communication campaign in their AOR by gathering information and liaising with local and religious authorities, IOs and NGOs. JRD-SE is a multinational unit with personnel coming from five different contributing nations: Finland, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, United States and Turkey. The unit is commanded by an Italian Officer and is based in "Camp Film City” Pristina.
JRD-SE’s AOR includes 16 Municipalities, included five of the six Serbian majority municipalities of the South of Kosovo, where the unit contributes to the maintenance of a Safe and Secure Environment and Freedom of Movement, monitoring and early identification of security, socio-economic and political situations.
The JRDs operates with non-kinetic assets called Liaison and Monitoring Teams (LMTs). All this kind of activity contributes significantly to improve the relationships among all the communities of the area but also to foster the citizens’ credibility towards KFOR.
