US Soldiers Conduct Weapons Qualification Training

PRISTINA - US soldiers assigned to Regional Command East of the NATO-led KFOR mission conducted weapons qualification training on the M240 and M249 machine guns at the Bobaj Bokes Range in the municipality of Gjakova/Ðakovica, Kosovo. Soldiers being trained and proficient on multiple weapons systems is paramount to the overall readiness of KFOR troops.

These efforts are part of KFOR's daily mission to guarantee a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999—to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
