U.S. Aviation and Infantry Units Conduct Joint Training Patrol Along Administrative Boundary Line

PRISTINA - U.S. aviation Soldiers assigned to the Regional Command East of the NATO-led KFOR mission conducted an aerial insertion for U.S. infantry troops in support of an independent patrol in northern Kosovo along the Administrative Boundary Line.

Such training is vital to maintaining readiness and interoperability among units, and to preserve the needed effectiveness in KFOR's action for a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
