North Atlantic Council and NATO Secretary General visited KFOR

PRISTINA - The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, welcomed the North Atlantic Council (NAC), with the NATO Secretary General, Mr Mark Rutte, and the NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ms Radmila Shekerinska, for their visit to KFOR, the NATO-led mission in Kosovo.

During the visit, the COM KFOR shared his views on the current security situation across the region and underlined KFOR’s efforts on ensuring a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and in support to the EU-facilitated dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade.
KFOR Commander, Major General Enrico Barduani engaged as well with Ambassadors from KFOR troop-contributing nations, thanking them for their steadfast support to the NATO-led KFOR mission and to the overall security of the region.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
