MSU Personnel Receive Life-Saving Training at BLSD Course

PRISTINA - Multinational Specialized Unit (MSU) of the NATO-led KFOR mission conducted Basic Life Support Defibrillation courses at MSU camp in Pristina.

The Cardiac Surgeon Scientific Advisor to the General Command of the Carabinieri, Professor Cesare Beghi, also joined the activity, instructing and training the MSU personnel on life-saving topics such as airway obstruction, the Heimlich manoeuvre, the correct use of the tourniquet and the Israeli bandage.

The courses gave participants important knowledge of correct procedures in case of first aid could be useful in everyday life.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
