Latvian and Polish KFOR Soldiers Conduct Crowd Riot Control Training

PRISTINA - Latvian and Polish soldiers assigned to Regional Command East of the NATO-led KFOR mission, conducted crowd riot control training on Camp Novo Selo, Kosovo.

During the training Polish soldiers simulated a crowd of rioters escalating tensions against the Latvian soldiers. The training provides realistic riot scenarios in a controlled environment allowing both countries to learn from one another.

These efforts are part of KFOR's daily mission to guarantee a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo. KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX (the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo) in their respective roles as security responders.
