KFOR Legal Officers Share Expertise with Students at International Business College Mitrovica

PRISTINA - U.S. Army Capt. Laura Eckstein, a Judge Advocate General’s Corps Attorney assigned to Regional Command East of the NATO-led KFOR mission, provided a lecture to students studying at the International Business College Mitrovica, in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, Kosovo. Her lecture focused on the role of military lawyers and the services they provide in support of the KFOR mission. She was joined alongside CPT Gurney Pearsall, a lawyer for the U.S. Army’s Area Support Group - Balkans, who discussed how Area Support Group - Balkans and KFOR work together on legal matters and the longstanding partnership between the two elements.

These efforts are part of KFOR’s daily mission to support and guarantee a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
