KFOR Honors Croatian Statehood Day with Ceremony at Camp Film City

PRISTINA - The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to Kosovo, Her Excellency Daniela Barišić, presided over the Croatian national day Ceremony at KFOR Headquarters, in Camp Film City, Pristina.

30 May, the "Statehood Day", marks the constitution of the first modern multi-party Croatian Parliament in 1990.
During the ceremony, General Barduani expressed his admiration for Croatians' long-standing commitment for liberty, testified by their history, and his gratitude to the Croatian contingent for their contribution to KFOR and their dedication to Kosovo's stability: "This day belongs to you" said the COM KFOR.

Ambassador Barišić, recalling the steady struggle for freedom conducted throught years by her nation, thanked the Croatian soldiers for continuing the same commitment in KFOR.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
