KFOR Engineer Platoon Conducts Bridge Inspections

PRISTINA - Italian soldiers from the engineer platoon of Regional Command West, part of the NATO-led KFOR mission, conducted a series of inspections on several bridges in the municipalities of Pejë/Peć, Klinë/Klina, and Gjakovë/Đakovica.

This activity falls within the capabilities of engineer units to support mobility in the area. Awareness of the situation along the lines of communication is crucial for the success of operations.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999—to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
