KFOR Commander Presides Over Change of Command Ceremony for ISR Battalion

PRISTINA - Today, the Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, presided over the Change of Command Ceremony of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Battalion, held at Camp “Film City” in Pristina.

The outgoing Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Giovanni De Santis, handed over the NATO flag to the incoming Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Salvatore Salvaggio. Both commanders belong to the Italian Army.

Major General Barduani expressed his appreciation to Lieutenant Colonel De Santis for his leadership and dedication, highlighting the high levels of readiness and professionalism displayed by the unit’s personnel. He also wished Lieutenant Colonel Salvaggio a successful tenure.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999—to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
