KFOR Commander Hosts Japanese Chargé d’Affaires for First Dialogue on Kosovo Stability

PRISTINA - The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, today hosted His Excellency Hiroyasu Tanigaki, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Japan in Kosovo.

The meeting, the first one between COMKFOR and the Japanese diplomat, offered a valuable opportunity to exchange views on the current situation in Kosovo. His Excellency Tanigaki underscored the key role of in ensuring stability and peace throughout the region.

General Barduani reaffirmed KFOR’s unwavering commitment to support all efforts of the International Community in contributing to Kosovo's long-term peace and security and in promoting regional stability.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
