KFOR Commander Commends Turkish Contingent During Visit to Camp Sultan Murat

PRISTINA -The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, accompanied by the Deputy Commander, Brigadier General Cahit İrican, visited Camp “Sultan Murat” where they met personnel of the Turkish Contingent.

Upon arriving at Camp “Sultan Murat”, General Barduani was welcomed by The Commander, Colonel Ersin Çelikkanat, and briefed on the current security situation and ongoing operational activity in the area of responsibility.

General Barduani expressed his appreciation to Turkish soldiers for their significant contribution to KFOR's effort in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all communities living in Kosovo.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
