KFOR and EULEX Strengthen Cooperation with Revised Joint Operational Procedures

PRISTINA - Today, the Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani and the Head of Mission of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), Giovanni Pietro Barbano, signed the Revised Joint Operational Procedures between KFOR and EULEX, along with a Memorandum of Understanding governing KFOR ’s support and assistance to EULEX.

These revised procedures aim to enhance mutual cooperation and understanding between the two missions in the context of potential joint operations, in full accordance with their respective mandates as security responders.

The close collaboration between KFOR and EULEX exemplifies the effective integration of civilian and military efforts to enhance security on the ground, fostering stability and peace through increased interoperability.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
