Danish Contingent Hosts DANCON March

PRISTINA - This past weekend, the Danish contingent of the NATO-led KFOR mission hosted the DANCON March, a tradition of the Danish Armed Forces that dates back to 1972 to honor the legacy of injured veterans. More than 800 soldiers of the NATO-led KFOR mission joined together for the event, marching 27 kilometers while carrying at least 10 kilograms in less than 8 hours.

The DANCON March serves as a great opportunity for soldiers from multiple nations to come together and join in on a challenging yet rewarding journey, while increasing readiness and improving capabilities.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999—to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
