COMKFOR meets with Ms. Osmani to Discuss Security and Regional Stability

PRISTINA - The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, met with Ms. Vjosa Osmani, in Pristina.

The meeting was part of Major General Barduani’s regular interactions with his relevant counterparts in Kosovo and across the region.

The current situation and cooperation between KFOR and the Institutions in Kosovo were the main themes of the meeting.

General Barduani conveyed to Ms Osmani his hope for a prompt unlocking of the current political stalemate, in order to promptly resume dealing with the most urging challenges for the region.

He also underscored KFOR’s continued, good cooperation with the Kosovo security organizations and the importance of regular communication and coordination, for the benefit of lasting security across Kosovo and of regional stability.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
