Turkish troops from KFOR’s Operational Reserve Forces replace Italian units

PRISTINA - Turkish troops from KFOR’s reserves completed their deployment to the NATO-led KFOR mission. They will replace departing units from Italy.

Around 350 personnel, from the Turkish 65th mechanized infantry brigade, will carry out a rangeof activities, together with KFOR troops, and will be employed in response to any relevant developments in the security situation.

KFOR is well resourced and well postured to prevent any potential risks for escalation, and to tackle any security scenario, in accordance with its long-standing UN mandate.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
