KFOR’s Strategic Reserve Force to redeploy from Kosovo following successful 45-day mission

PRISTINA - KFOR’s Strategic Reserve Force (SRF) deployed by the UK will redeploy from Kosovo, after having completed a 45-day mission in support to KFOR’s efforts to continue contributing to a safe and secure environment, for all people living in Kosovo.

This deployment has involved both the SRF and the Allied Reserve Force and included a range of tasks, such as routine patrols and reconnaissance missions, some of which took place along the Administrative Boundary Line.

As the redeployment begins, we foresee increased vehicle and military equipment movements on the main transit routes. KFOR thanks all communities for their understanding - and will do its utmost to minimise any potential impact on their daily lives. These movements are essential for the safe and orderly redeployment of our forces.

KFOR’s leadership expresses gratitude for the SRF's dedication and professionalism during this mission, which has strengthened NATO’s peacekeeping mandate.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR is the third security responder, after the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law (EULEX) mission, respectively, with whom we work in close coordination.
