KFOR Commander meets with Mr. HOXHA and Mr. SVEÇLA

PRISTINA - The Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Enrico BARDUANI, met with the director of Kosovo Police, Mr. Gazmend HOXHA and subsequently with Mr. Xhelal SVEÇLA, today in Pristina.

These meetings were part of Major General Barduani’s regular interactions with his relevant counterparts in Kosovo and across the region.

Major General Barduani reiterated KFOR’s continuous commitment to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo, in accordance with its long-standing UN mandate.

He also underlined the need for continued coordination and regular consultations with the security organisations in Kosovo, as this is key to lasting security across Kosovo and to regional stability.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to provide a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX (the European Union Mission on Rule of Law) in their respective roles as security responders.
