KFOR Commander meets with Mr. Albin Kurti

PRISTINA - The Commander of the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR), Major General Enrico Barduani, was hosted by Mr Albin Kurti.

The KFOR Commander underscored that KFOR will continue to contribute to a safe and secure environment, for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 and the Military Technical Agreement. He reiterated KFOR’s full support to the EU-facilitated dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as the only platform to resolve outstanding issues and reach solutions that respect the rights of all communities, adding that this is key to lasting security across Kosovo and to regional stability.

Major General Barduani also pointed out his steadfast commitment to promote unity of effort with all of his counterparts, in order to ensure coordination and to reduce the potential for actions that could lead to tensions. “This is what will underpin all of my efforts and all of KFOR’s daily activities, as attested by KFOR’s motto “UNITAS OMNIA VINCIT”, he said.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to ensure a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR operates as third security responder, after the Kosovo Police and the EU Rule of Law (EULEX) mission, respectively, with whom we work in close coordination.
