COMKFOR met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy

PRISTINA - COMKFOR, Major General Enrico Barduani, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy, Honorable Antonio Tajani, at KFOR Headquarters, in Camp Film City in Pristina.

General Barduani briefed Minister Tajani on ongoing activities and the security situation, emphasizing Italy’s significant contribution to KFOR, comprising 20% of the total force, including leadership and operational units.

Minister Tajani then addressed the Italian Contingent, highlighting KFOR's vital role in maintaining stability in the Balkans, a key priority for Italy and the EU. He concluded by commending the Italian personnel for upholding the highest standards of justice, legality, and respect for human dignity.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate - based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 - to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Mission on Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders.
