Ukrainian contingent Medal Parade

Members of the Ukrainian National Contingent in Camp Novo Selo, receiving their Non-Article 5 medal.

PRISTINA - Members of the Ukrainian National Contingent received their Non-Article 5 medals in recognition of their commitment to the KFOR mission. The event took place in Camp Novo Selo, where the Ukrainian National Contingent Commander, Major Kovalskyi Roman, congratulated and thanked his soldiers for their commitment and highlighted the excellent close cooperation during their deployment in Kosovo.

Afterwards, KFOR Commander, Major General Franco Federici, expressed his appreciation and satisfaction with the Ukrainian soldiers who performed their tasks with reliability and professionalism. Their loyal commitment to the NATO-led KFOR mission was also highlighted.

The KFOR Joint Logistic Support Group Commander accompanied Major General Franco Federici during the medal presentation ceremony.

The Ukrainian contingent is assigned with the essential task of removing any obstacles placed on the roads, to allow the KFOR convoys’ to move safely and without reducing speed, by employing its Freedom of Movement Detachment.

The NATO-led KFOR mission is focused on the daily implementation of its mandate derived from United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, namely to provide a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo.
