COMKFOR resided over the Polish Armed Forces Day celebration

PRISTINA - The Polish Armed Forces Day represents, among others, the commemoration of the Polish soldiers who paid the biggest price of sustainment for their Homeland's independence in 1920 and this day is a great value for the Polish soldiers. Currently Poland is a NATO member and keeping in mind the memories about the Battle of Warsaw together with the Allies is been carrying out peace keeping operations around the world to maintain peace and stabilization. The Polish Military Contingent as the part of KFOR cooperates with 27 contingents from other countries and carry out the ordered tasks successfully. This was the statement of the KFOR Polish Senior representative Colonel Sławomir Jaskulski, addressing the numerous ceremony's attendees.

KFOR Commander, Major General Franco Federici took the opportunity to thank the Polish soldiers for their professionalism, dedication and for their excellent commitment showed in performing their daily assignments and tasks in compliance with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 mandate; namely to provide a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities living in Kosovo. 

The meeting was also a chance to familiarize by the representatives of the other nations with the equipment of the Polish military contingent using in Kosovo and history of the Battle of Warsaw, considered by many to be one of the most important battles in the history of the world.
