PRISTINA - In response to the recent developments in northern Kosovo, the NATO-led KFOR mission has increased patrols along major traffic routes affected by roadblocks and has deployed units at the Jarinje and Brnjak border crossing points. KFOR maintains an impartial, robust, agile and flexible posture to deal with all possible contingencies. General Federici also remains in close contact with all parties involved, to contribute to a rapid de-escalation.

KFOR remains focused on the daily implementation of its mandate – derived from the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to provide a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities living in Kosovo.
