- KFOR Commander, Major General Franco Federici, met with soldiers from the KFOR Regional Command East, Liaison Monitoring Team (LMT), K-21 in Ferizaj/Urosevac.
They discussed about the security situation on the ground and the upcoming Parliamentary Elections in Kosovo, that will be held on February 14th. During the Elections Day, KFOR in accordance with the security assessment will operate firmly, carefully and impartially, as 3rd responder after Kosovo Police and EULEX, in accordance with its current mandate, deriving from UNSCR 1244.
General Federici expressed his appreciations for the professionalism demonstrated by the soldiers of LMT K-21, who remain strongly committed to maintain a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all citizens in Kosovo.
The LMT's main task is to contribute to KFOR situational awareness, through liaison activities with the local institutions, International Organisations and the local population. They conduct daily monitoring activities in order to get the pulse of the economic, social and political situation on the ground and to ensure KFOR's credibility among all communities in Kosovo.
