Ambassadors of KFOR Contributing Nations met in KFOR HQ

PRISTINA - The Commander of the Kosovo Force, Major General Franco Federici welcomed the Ambassadors and Heads of Liaison Offices in Kosovo of the 27 KFOR Troop Contributing Nations. Admiral Robert P. Burke, Commander of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples - JFCNP,  in his opening speech highlighted the ongoing work of NATO and KFOR in maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo.

The participants were updated on the activities of KFOR in providing a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo. KFOR’s commitment and response to the COVID-19 pandemic throughout Kosovo was also highlighted; much of this support was only possible due to the NATO Allies and partners which have already provided substantial medical support to assist the Institutions in Kosovo. Thanks to these donations KFOR continues to provide direct support to the local population and Institutions through our Civil Military Cooperation activities.

Addressing the conference, Major General Federici said “I would like to thank you all for the firm commitment and the invaluable contribution provided by your Nations to KFOR. The daily efforts made by your soldiers along with their unwavering sense of duty are paramount to the accomplishment of the mission. We have to continue to be strongly committed to Kosovo’s security, contributing to maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities, in line with the UN mandate. And to do so, we need your support!”

Situation updates such as this were normal before COVID-19 but were suspended in early 2020 due to the pandemic. This was the first resumption of this event after 12 months of interruption due to COVID-19.

All COVID-19 preventative measures were implemented throughout the conference.
