PILOTS AND MEDICS FLYING TOGETHER

PRISTINA- KFOR Regional Command East’s Task Force Aviation, consisting of UH-60 “Blackhawk” helicopters, provides medical casualty transportation and air mobility for all troops of the NATO-led mission in Kosovo.

The region possesses impressive and contrasting landscapes, some of which is inaccessible via ground transport and KFOR RC-E’s Air Medical Evacuation elements continuously train for all scenarios to ensure they are ready and able to respond to any emergency medical mission anywhere in the area of operations. RC-E’s Aviation MedEvac unit is composed of highly trained U.S. Army Tennessee National Guard Soldiers.

The exercises they conduct are difficult and realistic, designed to improve and refine their skills, ensuring timely medical support and providing force protection for all KFOR personnel. Since the start of their rotation the unit has responded to several real-life calls throughout Kosovo. Task Force Aviation provides a crucial contribution to KFOR’s capability of carrying out all tasks mandated by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to the benefit of all communities in Kosovo.
