KFOR supports social welfare in the municipality of Zvecan

Pristina –Today KFOR Regional Command East delivered personal computers, telephones and office furniture worth 4,000 Euro to the Department of health and social welfare in the Municipality of Zvecan, a city with a population of 17,000 in Northern Kosovo.

The project was implemented by KFOR’s Civil-Military Cooperation branch in the framework of the support provided Kosovo-wide to institutions, communities and citizens regardless of ethnicity.

Svetlana Mihajlovic, who leads the Department, thanked KFOR’s representatives for the support that will allow her personnel to perform their duties more efficiently, to the benefit of local communities.

Zvecan’s Department of health and social welfare actually addresses a wide range of tasks, e.g. performing social welfare actions, facilitating the access to primary health care, assessing the needs for social assistance. They also monitor the social situation with special focus on women, children and elderly people, cooperating with humanitarian and professional institutions.
